Study of Psychological Security for First Year Students (Male and Female) at Physical Education College and Sport Sciences/ University of Baghdad

Abstract

The problem of this research was to study the differences between male and female students in psychological security level in first year, and whether the transition process from high school environment to university atmosphere has affected psychological security level, the first year community are students moved quality transmission in their lives, and that the researcher wanted to study this important psychological trait between males and females, and which one of each gender safer, and to explain the reasons for these differences, if any, or did not exist, the goal of research was to identify students psychological security level for first year, at Physical Education College and Sport Sciences / University of Baghdad (2014- 2015), and knowledge the differences in psychological security level among first year students, at Physical Education College and Sport Sciences / University of Baghdad (2014- 2015), and the researcher used survey method comparisons style, with research population of (267) students, (203 male), and (64 female) the sample research was of (80) students representing (39.40%) of all male, , (26) students which represent (40.62%) females, who took scale lists, and this had become (106) students as a total study sample of males and females, and took into account the researcher was excluded student from the sample the repeaters, displaced and players in the clubs for both gender, and the researcher used psychological security scale which prepared Maslow, which included (75) items response requesting (yes, not sure, do not), the scale was where translated in Arabic both (Doany, and Dirani), the researcher used statistic method like percentage ,, (T-test) for independent samples, after extracted search results, she concluded, that the psychological security level for male students was better than of psychological security level for female students, and recommended strengthening the sense of security level among students by working to create a mechanism and programs contribute to solve the problems faced by students daily, which has relation with academic social, and psychological or physical aspects
