Abstract

Thru her long tenure as a physical fitness instructor at the College of Physical Education and Sports Sciences, and her familiarity with the teaching methods used in the college, the researcher noticed that most of them rely on Mustin's methods such as the command, practice, and reciprocal styles in the physical fitness lesson. This observation led to the idea of the research, which aims to move away from these methods and adopt an approach that aligns with modern educational trends and accommodates the varying physical abilities of the students. The researcher used an experimental method with the design of experimental and control groups, including pre- and post-tests, with a comparison of the post-tests. The researcher selected one class to represent the experimental group and another class to represent the control group, with 25 students in each class. After dividing the sample into three classifications (weak, average, good), she applied the strategy of progressive activities. After conducting the statistical treatments, the results showed that the experimental group outperformed the control group in all research tests.
