The Impact of the Gerlach and Ely Model on Learning Forehand and Backhand Strokes in Tennis for Female Students

The current study aimed to improve educational units based on the Girac-Ely model for teaching female students the forehand and backhand stroke skills in tennis The researcher used an experimental design with a control group and an experimental group employing pre- and post-tests. The research population include sample of 71 female students from Al-Fahoud High School for Gifted Students during the 2025-2026 academic year. The research sample consisted of 30 students divided into experimental and control groups of 15 students each. Four students were selected for a pilot study. A curriculum was developed incorporating the Girac-Ely model, consisting of 14 educational units. The forehand and backhand stroke test was used to measure the sample's progress. Data were statistically analyzed using SPSS. The researcher concluded that the Girac-Ely model had a positive impact on learning the selected skills and recommended its adoption for tennis players' learning and development as well as its integration into sports activities.
