Motor Response Speed And Its Relationship With Performance Accuracy of Defensive Volleyball Skills

Abstract

The research aimed at identifying the relation between motor response speed and
performance accuracy of some defensive volleyball skills. The researcher hypothesized
statistical relationship between motor response speed and performance accuracy of some
defensive volleyball skills. The researcher used the descriptive method. The subjects were
advance volleyball players from Al Senaa club. The results showed the great effect of motor
speed response on reception performance accuracy as well as on court defense performance
accuracy. The researcher recommended stressing abilities that affect skill performance like
motor response speed as well as stressing exercises that develop motor response speed.
Finally he recommended making teaching and training aids that develop motor response
speed due to its great importance on developing defensive skills in volleyball.
