Special Speed And Its Relation With The Third Wave Quick Offense and Its Success In Handball

Abstract

The aim of the research was to construct a test to measure special speed of handball players in Iraq. As well as making criteria for this test. In addition to that the researcher aimed at identifying the relationship between special speed in handball and the time of the third wave and its success. The researcher used the descriptive method. The subjects were (6) Iraqi handball league teams. Seventy players were selected for constructing and standardizing the test. Al Kurkh team was selected for finding correlative relationship between the time of performing the third wave of quick offense and its success in handball after collecting the results and treating it using SPSS. The researcher concluded that the tests is valid for measuring the speed of Iraq handball player, the players special speed has a strong relationship with the time of performing the third wave in offense and the correct attempts during matches. Finally the researcher recommended using the test for measuring the speed of Iraqi handball player.
