Historic march to the pool with disabilities in the country of Iraq since 1983 until 2008.

The article of interest widens around people with special needs day by day and the studies dedicated to this important sect of people increased as well. Peoples with special needs are an important part of active human resources that can be directed to enrich the country with their unique achievements. The review of literature shows the importance of this sect and their achievements an role in society through time. The aim of this historical research is to focus upon the athletic motor development as an important part of human resources (handicapped athletes) in swimming surveying their improvement from 1983 till 2008. the study also aims at identifying the championships and meetings of all kinds dedicated to people with special needs, their names and coaches. The procedure of the study relays heavily on historical references as well as personal interviews that helped enriching the survey. The subjects are the National Iraqi Handicapped Swimming Federation as well as the National Iraqi Paralympics committee, the college of physical education and Al Qadesia Pool.
