Abstract

The aim of the research is to identify the effect of strength stamina on the development of performance accuracy of some basic skills in volleyball. Strength stamina is considered one of the most important components of physical fitness that a volley ball player should possess. Volleyball required fast speed performance to transform defensive play into offensive play and vise versa. The nature of performance in volleyball highly depends on the athlete's proficiency in the basic skills as well as his/her ability to manipulate them tactically. Although the size of the court is rather small, the athlete requires high level of fitness to cover the court in defense and offence situations. Thus the researcher focused on developing these skills through strength stamina. The researcher used the experimental method. The subjects were 30 volleyball players. The results showed significant statistical differences in the subjects of the research in pre and posttests and in favor of posttests.Finally the researcher recommended concentrating on developing the basic skills of volleyball through strength stamina exercises. She also recommended using other types of stamina due to their great effect on developing the accuracy of performing the basic skills in volleyball
