Abstract

There are two main different starts that are commonly used among top competitive swimmers: the track start and the conventional grab start. The one you choose is fully based on personal preference and what you are trying to achieve. First key part of the start is the stand a swimmer takes on the block. This research try to answer the question: Which way is the best to improve 50m free style time, a track start or a grab start to use? Study carry out on subjects of 5 elite free style Iraqi swimmers. It’s revealed that Performance in the start is strongly related to overall swim performance. And It is unclear whether particular postures on the blocks such as those used for grab and track starts and their variants yield an advantage compared to the others.
