Abstract

Constructing and Standardizing a Compound Test For Skill Performance and Transitional Speed For Selecting Young Fencers

The research aimed at constructing a compound test for skill performance and transitional speed for selecting young fencers and standardizing it and finding criteria for this test. The subjects were 98 fencers from Iraq distributed as follows 20 fencers for pilot study, 64 fencers as construction sample, and 78 fencers for standardization. The data was collected and treated using proper statistical operations. The researchers concluded that compound tests for physical abilities – skill showed a significant development in this ability. The researchers recommend using this test for selecting young fencers aged 14 – 16 years old as well as generalizing the compound test on all age groups in fencing.
